Getting married on the beach

Reading time 5.6 Minutes

When you think of getting married on the beach, you think of peace, freedom and enjoying the surroundings and each other. I am going to tell you what you can do more of compared to other weddings, what to look out for and what we have seen from couples who have gone before you. Brace yourselves!

Getting married by the sea

Morning

  • Sleep in a bungalow park close to the beach the day before, if you and the guests have to travel far. This saves so much unnecessary stress.
This allows the bride and groom to be nice and close, without already seeing each other in wedding attire.
  • Do a first-look on the beach or by the dunes.

Afternoon

  • Don't forget the simple things. Flip-flops are your friend, bring one pair. Sunscreen, enough water and tissues for the ceremony.
  • How tempting is it to jump into the sea for a moment? During the reception, there is bound to be a moment to take a quick dip. Mark the time in the
    playbook.
  • Bring a football, Frisbee or something similar. This creates a playful atmosphere.
  • At some beach bars you can trampoline jump or Blokarting. (Blokarting is karting with a sail)
  • Hire a nanny, according to the amount of children.

Evening

  • Don't forget the sunset photos with just the two of you or one with everyone.
  • The evenings can get treacherously cold after a hot day at the beach. Bring a wedding vest and dresses for guests.
  • An open fire on the beach is prohibited almost everywhere. But at a beach tent, this is often not a problem. A campfire completes an evening.
  • Hire a professional photobooth in or see what the beach bar has to offer in terms of evening entertainment
  • When you leave, have guests form a hedge with starlets outside the beach tent. Do choose the extra-long variety, as the little ones go out quickly.

I think the camera is just a tool and it is the people who make the photo.

Nice article, my compliments! Getting married on the beach is truly a fairy tale, I got to experience it up close. It is a beautiful memory that I will never forget. Even if you have little budget for your wedding, this is definitely recommended! Besides that just find a good cheap wedding dress and you're good to go. You can save quite a lot on some things, which you might not expect at first.

    Greetings from Anne.
