The significance of wedding attire
An important part of a Coptic wedding is the clothes worn by the bride and groom and the guests. The wedding attire should be elegant and formal and match the mood of the wedding.
The bride usually wears a long white dress that emphasises her beauty and purity. Sometimes she chooses to wear a veil that covers her face, which she takes off during the wedding ceremony. She may also wear jewellery such as a pearl necklace, bracelets and earrings, which complete her outfit.
The groom usually wears a suit with a tie and shoes to match his outfit. Some grooms choose a traditional Coptic outfit, such as a long robe that is often white or beige in colour.
