How long does planning a wedding take?
Planning a wedding takes time. It is by no means exceptional to be engaged for more than a year before the wedding day arrives. Below, we discuss the most important things that need to be arranged before the wedding.

How soon can you get married?
If you want to get married as soon as possible today, it will take at least two weeks. This is because the betrothal takes two weeks.
We had the opportunity to experience this ourselves at a wedding. It was almost a complete wedding. Even the wedding dress was arranged. The only thing not arranged were the wedding rings, which the bride and groom got from a toy machine.
If you want to be well ahead of time, these are the times you can stick to:
Wedding dress purchase
Picking out a wedding dress is something you do minimum 10 months for your wedding day. This sounds like an ample timeframe, but it is necessary to order your dream dress made-to-measure and (possibly) altered. If you pick a dress last-minute, you have less choice, fewer sizes and no room for alterations.
Picking a wedding suit
The groom also needs a nice outfit. Take plenty of time for this too, and choose the suit at least 7 months before the wedding so that the suit can be custom ordered to your wedding plans
Arrange wedding location
You also book the wedding venue at least 12 to 7 months before the big day arrives. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that your chosen venue will already be booked on that day. For this reason, booking a wedding venue is one of the first things you arrange before the big day.
Sending invitations
Send the invitations immediately after fixing the wedding location. The earlier you send out the invitations, the more people can attend the party. It will also give you a quick idea of how many guests will be coming.
Book wedding photographer
Booking a wedding photographer is best done as soon as possible. Keep at least 7 months in advance to guarantee that the photographer has space in his or her schedule. If you start looking sooner in advance, there is a greater chance that the most experienced wedding photographers will be fully booked.
Hair and make-up
On the wedding day, you want to look sparkling. Therefore, look for a good make-up artist and hairdresser in time. Plan at least 5 months schedule an appointment before the big day. You can also schedule a trial appointment to get acquainted with the services offered by the hairdresser or make-up artist. This will ensure that there is a style in between that you like. It is also best for the groom to schedule a hairdressing appointment as soon as possible.
Catering
You often book food and drinks at the wedding venue. However, if you are having a wedding on your own property or in a forest, then you do book catering. Do this about 6 months in advance so you can choose from several catering companies.
Flowers
Flowers belong to a wedding. Not only for the bridal bouquet, but also as accessories at the altar or on the tables. This is another thing you arrange 3 to 4 months in advance.
Wedding cake
Order a wedding cake from a pastry chef 8 to 9 months before the wedding day. Also schedule a tasting session where you taste different cake flavours to find out what flavours you want to incorporate into the cake.
